Black Salt Audio has released BSA Drum Bus, a compressor specifically designed for rock and metal genres.
BSA Drum Bus is a plugin engineered for mixing intense sounds typical of rock genres, offering a modern and competitive sound through an intuitive interface that reduces complex settings.
As the name suggests, it's a compressor intended for use on drum buses. What makes it unique is the combination of compressor and saturator functions, with some room for tone shaping as well.
Drum Bus offers two modes. The Standard mode adds cohesion to drum mixes with clean and transparent compression, while the Slammed mode creates a powerful and impactful drum sound with more aggressive compression.
The tone adjustment feature is also noteworthy. Through Tone and Salt controls, you can fine-tune the drum timbre, allowing you to find the optimal sound for each track's characteristics.
Adding the Heat control introduces appropriate saturation to the drums, creating a richer and more distinctive sound.
Currently, BSA Drum Bus is on sale at Plugin Boutique for $34, a 30% discount. While Plugin Boutique may add VAT depending on your region, throughout September, regardless of purchase amount, you'll receive either Audiority's Pyros or Excite Audio's Bloom Vocal Aether Lite for free.
The sale runs until October 11th. Although not yet announced, purchases made in October will come with a different free product, so if you don't need the plugins offered free in September, it might be worth waiting until October.
If you're curious about the product, you can try a demo version for free for 14 days on the official website.
