[Monthly Mixing] Ableton has announced that their new product 'Move' will be released on October 8th.
Ableton revealed an image on their official website with the phrase "Ableton Move is coming soon" along with the date October 8th.
While it's currently unclear exactly what 'Move' is, trademark information registered with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) suggests it's likely to be a hardware product.
The trademark was filed under the categories of 'Musical Instrument Products' and 'Computer Product, Electrical & Scientific Products', specifically mentioning "computer hardware for music and sound production", "digital controllers for musical instruments in the form of audio interfaces", and "MIDI controllers".
Ableton is famous for its DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) software 'Live', but also has a diverse product line including the hardware controller 'Push' and iOS app 'Note'.
As the name 'Move' suggests, it could be a mobile-related product with good portability. Industry insiders are speculating it could be a pocket-sized version of Live or AI-based hardware that allows music production on the go.
Meanwhile, Ableton recently added various new features including a new drum sampler and auto shift effect through the Live 12.1 update.
Detailed information about 'Move' is expected to be revealed on October 8th.
