[Monthly Mixing] Orange Amplification has announced a limited edition Dual Dark 100 White amplifier.
While nearly identical to the existing Dual Dark 100 model, it features a pure white Tolex finish, and Channel A has been adjusted to reflect the characteristics of the OR100.
The Dual Dark 100 was completely different from other Orange amps in terms of gain and voicing, known for its tight low-end and punchy aggression. Channel A was a new design with powerful EQ, open midrange, and tight response, while Channel B had high gain, heavy metal characteristics similar to the company's Thunderverb 200.
This limited edition model maintains the existing features while adding a classic OR100 British tone to Channel A. As a result, Channel A offers a variety of tones from clean to classic rock and metal, while Channel B maintains the scooped midrange and smooth highs of the Thunderverb.
Output can be selected from 100W to 70W, and 50W to 30W, with further reduction possible through a footswitch-controllable attenuator. The attenuator can also be used to adjust volume for rhythm parts or as a boost for leads.
More information about the limited edition Dual Dark 100 White can be found on the official Orange Amplification website.
