Epiphone launches Jimi Hendrix 'Love Drops' Flying V

[Monthly Mixing] Epiphone has released the 'Love Drops' Flying V guitar commemorating guitarist Jimi Hendrix.

Epiphone collaborated with Gibson Custom and the Hendrix family to recreate the guitar that Jimi customized and played extensively from 1967 to 1969.

As part of Epiphone's 'inspired by Gibson Custom' series, this guitar offers premium features including high-quality electronics and design upgrades.

Janie Hendrix, Jimi's sister and CEO of Experience Hendrix LLC & Authentic Hendrix LLC, said, "Jimi's hand-painted Flying V was an expression of his love for his instrument and music," adding, "Gibson has beautifully recreated Jimi's artwork."

Originally a Sunburst, the guitar meticulously recreates the psychedelic graphics Jimi hand-painted after refinishing it in Ebony. To honor the left-handed guitarist, both right-handed and left-handed versions are available.

Specifications include a mahogany body and one-piece mahogany neck, round C profile, laurel fretboard, and 22 medium jumbo frets. It's equipped with two Gibson Custombucker humbuckers, CTS potentiometers, a Mallory tone capacitor, and a Switchcraft 3-way pickup selector.

The Epiphone Jimi Hendrix 'Love Drops' Flying V is now available through official Epiphone dealers and website.
