The real-time stem separation tool 'PEEL STEMS' by zplane is currently on sale at Plugin Boutique.

The dragged area can be routed to a different track in your DAW. For instance, you could play only the mid-range frequencies from the center on a separate channel and apply a saturator or spatial effects.
