Digital Deluxe Edition of "Our Brand Could Be Yr Life" Coming November 1st
NYC cultural commentators BODEGA have unveiled their latest single "Myrtle Parade," marking a significant addition to their upcoming digital deluxe edition, Brand On The Run.
The expanded version of their acclaimed 2024 album "Our Brand Could Be Yr Life" is set for release on November 1st via Chrysalis Records, featuring seven additional tracks including four previously unreleased songs. Along with "Myrtle Parade," the band has also shared "Cultural Consumer IV," completing their Cultural Consumer tetralogy.
Ben Hozie of BODEGA describes "Myrtle Parade" as a sunny, breezy track originally intended for "Endless Scroll" but ultimately held back. The song paints a vivid picture of a cramped DIY warehouse venue in Brooklyn, capturing the social anxiety and out-of-place feelings often experienced at such shows. The accompanying self-directed video reflects this paradox, depicting a costumed gallery party where euphoria and unease coexist.
Brand On The Run serves as a companion piece to Our Brand Could Be Yr Life, featuring remakes of songs from Ben and Nikki's earlier group, Bodega Bay (2013-2016). The collection explores various genres, from Madchester to shoegaze, while maintaining the band's signature examination of underground rock culture.
BODEGA's tour schedule includes multiple UK headline dates in October, with several shows already sold out. The band recently launched their podcast, BODEGA AT THIS MOMENT, available on various streaming platforms.
Their original album, Our Brand Could Be Yr Life, released in April, garnered critical acclaim and featured three singles A-listed at BBC 6 Music. The band previewed the record at SXSW and toured extensively across North America, Europe, and the UK.
