LARKIN POE announce new album Bloom

GRAMMY Award-winning sister duo herald eagerly awaited album with lush new single 'If God Is A Woman'

Larkin Poe, the GRAMMY Award-winning duo of Georgia-bred, Nashville-based multi-instrumentalist sisters Rebecca and Megan Lovell, have announced their eagerly awaited new album, Bloom, set to release on Friday, January 24, 2025 via their own Tricki-Woo Records.

This announcement comes on the heels of their recent triumph as "Duo/Group of the Year" at the 2024 Americana Honors & Awards. Bloom, which follows their GRAMMY Award-winning 2022 album Blood Harmony, is preceded by the release of the new single 'If God Is A Woman'. This track blends lush sonic landscapes with lyrics that ground listeners in contemporary questions through blues-soaked sounds reminiscent of the Mississippi hill country.

Rebecca Lovell describes the new single as a reminder to resist typecasting women, both conscious and unconscious. "There are many shades of existence, and we had fun painting abstract with this sardonic blues," she explains. The album was first introduced earlier this summer with the genre-bending single 'Bluephoria', described by Rebecca as "a rock 'n' roll rumination on the duality of the human experience."

Bloom represents a significant evolution for Larkin Poe, showcasing their gift for storytelling and delving deep into personal narratives with universal themes of self-acceptance and individuality. Produced and largely co-written by Megan, Rebecca, and Tyler Bryant, the album features a collection of songs that resonate with introspection, authenticity, and a profound connection to their roots in American music.

The sisters describe the album as a journey of self-discovery. "Bloom is about finding oneself amidst the noise of the world," says Rebecca. Megan adds, "In one way or another, pretty much all of the songs on this album are about finding yourself, knowing yourself, and separating the truth of who you are from societal expectations."

Larkin Poe's 2024 has been marked by significant achievements, including their first career GRAMMY Award for "Best Contemporary Blues Album" for Blood Harmony. Their upcoming schedule includes appearances at various festivals and a series of dates as special guests on KALEO's Payback Tour 2024.
