Wax Head Releases New Single "Rusty Cutter" and Announces UK/EU Tour

Manchester-based punk quartet Wax Head has released their latest single "Rusty Cutter" via Sour Grapes Records, accompanied by the announcement of their first European tour.

This release follows their critically acclaimed EP "Salt Fat Acid Heat," which garnered support from BBC Radio 6's Huw Stephens.

"Rusty Cutter" showcases Wax Head's signature blend of garage psych and punk energy. The band describes the track as a homage to their love for garage-rock, stating, "We wanted to blend noisy, angular, and experimental sounds into the more straightforward structures we are inspired by, but the track's brain-tickling noise and treble-driven guitars keep it distinctively Wax Head."

The single was produced by Borja Regueira at The Round Purple Electric Machine and mastered by Harris Newman at Grey Market Mastering. Its artwork features the band's iconic "Head in the Drum" photo, captured during a sold-out London show at The Old Blue Last.

Wax Head recently performed at Manchester Psych Fest alongside notable acts like The Horrors, Baxter Dury, and Mdou Moctar. Their upcoming tour includes headline shows across the UK and Europe, with appearances at Rotterdam's Left Of The Dial festival and Paris' They're Gonna Be Big Festival at the Supersonic venue.

Expressing excitement about their tour, the band said, "We are thrilled to go on our first European tour this year - being able to showcase our music to new crowds, explore new cities, and play international music festivals is an exciting opportunity." They also acknowledged the support of Sour Grapes Records and funding from PRS Foundation's International Showcase for their Rotterdam appearance.

The tour kicks off on October 15th at London's Shacklewell Arms and includes stops in Eindhoven, Rotterdam, Troyes, Arras, Tours, Paris, Tournai, and Lille. Fans can catch Wax Head's high-energy live performances at these venues throughout October.
