[Monthly Mixing] UK-based music production magazine Future Music has announced the discontinuation of its print edition after 32 years, releasing its final physical issue.
The magazine, owned by Future PLC, will cease print publication after its 414th issue and transition to the MusicRadar website.
Since its launch in autumn 1992, Future Music has played a crucial role in electronic music creation. It introduced diverse artists like Aphex Twin, Four Tet, and Avicii early in their careers, and reviewed thousands of cutting-edge synthesizers, plugins, and studio tools, while covering various subgenres and styles.
The final 414th print issue offers readers tried-and-tested mixing advice to help perfect their final mixes. The magazine states they've curated timeless and essential advice from their team of experts.
Future Music commented, "Sadly, times have changed, and the concept of a print publication focused on a forward-thinking field like music technology has become increasingly challenging in recent years."
While the print edition is discontinuing, the content provided by Future Music will continue to be available on the MusicRadar website. Subscribers will receive refunds for their remaining subscription periods within 7-10 days after the final print issue's publication.
In their final statement, Future Music expressed, "We extend our deepest gratitude to all team members, writers, photographers, contributors, and collaborators who have helped create Future Music over the past 30 years. Of course, we also thank everyone who has read, subscribed to, and supported FM during this time."
