Metallica Pays Homage to Fan Who Died at Recent Concert

[Monthly Mixing] Metallica, the iconic heavy metal band, recently took a moment to honor a fan who passed away during one of their concerts.

The band acknowledged the tragic event through a heartfelt post on their official Facebook page earlier this week.

The fan, known as Lorne "Viking," died at Metallica's August 23 show in Edmonton due to health conditions. In their tribute, the band expressed their sadness at the loss while also finding solace in the fact that Lorne spent some of his final moments at their concert, which they hoped were joyful.

"Very sad when death happens, but we're touched that he spent some of his final, hopefully joyful, time with us," the band stated in their post. "Our condolences to the family and friends of Lorne 'Viking.'"

According to Consequence of Sound, a post in a Metallica fan group from an alleged friend who attended the show provided more details about the incident. The post claimed that Lorne was taken out of the "snake pit" area on a stretcher, with emergency medical services performing CPR.

The friend's post encouraged fellow fans to remember Lorne, stating, "Please crank up a Metallica song and raise a glass for the Viking!! RIP my dear friend."
