British rock band Boston Manor has released their highly anticipated fifth studio album, "Sundiver," via SharpTone Records.
The album, which follows 2022's "Datura," represents a new chapter for the Blackpool-based quintet, exploring themes of hope, new beginnings, and rebirth.
"Sundiver" has already garnered critical acclaim, with Dork awarding it four stars and praising it as "hot and heavy and absolutely stunning." Kerrang! also gave the album a four-star rating, noting that Boston Manor has "never sounded as cohesive, as unique and as stubbornly characterful."
To celebrate the album's release, Boston Manor has planned a series of events across the UK. The band hosted a sold-out 'Pitch Black Playback' fan event in London, allowing fans an early listen to the album in an immersive environment. They've also opened a pop-up store in London's Hackney Gallery, featuring exclusive vinyl, merchandise, and a photography exhibition.
Lead singer Henry Cox describes "Sundiver" as "the culmination of two years work and four years of planning," explaining that it's the second part of a double album concept that began with "Datura." While "Datura" was created in a windowless studio during winter, "Sundiver" was recorded over two summers in Welwyn Garden City, reflecting a brighter, more optimistic tone.
The band is spotlighting the new track "Dissolve" from the album, which Cox describes as "super groove based and danceable, like something off a Queens of the Stone Age or an Arctic Monkeys record."
Boston Manor will support the album's release with a UK instore tour beginning this weekend, followed by a headline tour in September. The headline tour includes stops in major cities such as Nottingham, Manchester, Glasgow, and London, with the Leeds show already sold out.
You can listen to "Sundiver" now on all major streaming platforms.
