Fast-rising Nottingham quartet unveil lead single 'All My Freaks'
Nottingham-based band DIVORCE has announced their highly anticipated debut album, Drive to Goldenhammer, set for release on March 7th, 2025, via Gravity / Capitol. The announcement comes alongside the release of their lead single, 'All My Freaks'.
Formed in mid-2021, DIVORCE quickly made waves in the music scene with their genre-defying singles, catching the attention of industry tastemakers worldwide. The band, consisting of Tiger Cohen-Towell (vocals/bass), Felix Mackenzie-Barrow (vocals/guitar), Adam Peter Smith (guitar/synth), and Kasper Sandstrøm (drums), initially met as teenagers through Nottingham's close-knit DIY scene.
Drive to Goldenhammer represents a significant milestone for the band, showcasing their evolution and growth since their formation. The album, influenced by the band's experiences of life on the road, explores themes of transformation and the search for a place to call home within their music. It blends elements of country, indie-rock, folk, and chamber pop, creating a sound that is uniquely DIVORCE.
The album was written and demoed across four seasons at The Calm Farm in North Yorkshire, before being brought to life with producer Catherine Marks at Real World Studios. This process has imbued the record with a lived-in feeling and natural warmth, reflecting the band's Midlands identity and creating a fictional refuge from the world at large.
'All My Freaks', the album's lead single, is a tongue-in-cheek critique of the music industry's ego, featuring radiant synths and bright riffs. Tiger Cohen-Towell describes the song as "laughing at our own egos and yet acknowledging the power that they wield."
DIVORCE's upcoming UK headline tour, which includes a sold-out four-night residency at their hometown venue Bodega, will culminate in their largest headline show to date at London's Islington Assembly Hall in October.
