[Monthly Mixing] UVI has released 'HX-Oddy', a virtual instrument that modernly reinterprets vintage analog synths.
HX-Oddy is based on the world's first duophonic analog synth. UVI mentioned 'famous 2500, 2600 modular synths', suggesting inspiration from the ARP 2500 and 2600.
Using UVI's Hybrid-X engine, it offers deep sampling of the hardware and adds two new hardware-based wavetable layers and physically modeled filters, allowing for a total of three sample layers to be configured.
HX-Oddy provides 280 diverse presets including bass, brass, FX, keys, leads, pads, plucks, sequences, and arpeggios. It includes 181 layers composed of over 13,000 hardware samples.
This product can be used in the free software Workstation that can run UVI products. Alternatively, it can be run in Falcon 3.0.3 or higher.
It supports Audio Unit, AAX, VST, VST3, and standalone formats. The regular price is $79, but it's currently available on the UVI website at a launch promotional price of $49.
More details can be found on the UVI website.
