Oberheim Classic Synthesizer Returns as Virtual Instrument: GForce OB-1

[Monthly Mixing] GForce has introduced a software emulation of the classic synthesizer OB-1 in collaboration with Oberheim.

Released in 1978, the hardware Oberheim OB-1 was the world's first programmable monophonic synthesizer, an innovative product that introduced preset memory functionality to analog synthesizers.

GForce's Oberheim OB-1 maintains the rich and aggressive sound of the original while adding modern features. Key improvements include up to 16-voice polyphony and unison mode, extensive modulation options via X-Modifier, a high-pass filter, chorus/delay/reverb effects, four macro controls, and a built-in arpeggiator and sequencer.

GForce stated that this product would be useful for techno and electronic genre producers, artists, and composers.

The OB-1 comes with over 300 presets and is available in AU, AAX, VST2, and VST3 formats. It can be used on Windows and Mac, and supports Apple Silicon Macs. The regular price is 99 pounds, but it's currently on sale for a launch price of 49 pounds.

More details can be found on the OB-1 product page of the GForce website.
