[Monthly Mixing] Roland has released their famous delay model 'RE-201 Space Echo', originally launched in 1974, as a plugin.
The RE-201 Space Echo, known for its unique multi-head delay effect using analog tape and spring reverb, remains so popular that many brands have released reissue plugins.
This release is particularly noteworthy as it's an official plugin developed directly by Roland, the manufacturer of the original hardware.
Roland has recreated the feel of the original hardware through a high-resolution interface and visually engaging graphic options.
It also comes with over 50 presets and features 6 Tape Speed LFOs, tempo sync, wow/flutter, and motor torque adjustment functions.
Roland stated that they thoroughly analyzed several vintage RE-201 units for plugin development. Using the latest modeling technology, they perfectly reproduced the characteristics of the RE-201, including the tape path, recording/playback mechanism, motor variations, preamp coloration, and tape aging.
The RE-201 Space Echo is available through Roland Cloud Ultimate subscription membership at now. More details can be found on the Roland website.
