[Monthly Mixing] Neural DSP is set to announce the release of CorOS 3.0.0 for the Quad Cortex on the 31st, which will include support for guitar amp plugins.
The upcoming CorOS 3.0.0 update will allow users to create a plugin library on the Quad Cortex, enabling them to build a digital electric guitar tone ecosystem.
By downloading plugins onto the Quad Cortex, users will be able to mix and match virtual devices from the Archetype plugin family with the hardware devices. For instance, one can select the virtual guitar amp from the Gojira plugin and the cabinet from Plini, then add delay and reverb from the Quad Cortex.
The first plugins to be released are Archetype: Plini X and Archetype: Gojira X. Plini X, born from a collaboration with Plini, is considered one of Neural DSP's most versatile product lines, while Gojira X, created in collaboration with Gojira, offers powerful sounds including Joe Duplantier’s signature metal guitar tones.
Neural DSP recommends that users create backups before starting the update.
Additionally, users who update to the CorOS 3.0.0 operating system will be given the benefit of selecting a free plugin from the Neural catalog.
