[Monthly Mixing] Universal Audio (UA) has announced the Apollo x16D, a Thunderbolt audio interface with Dante support.
Designed for live sound venues and networked recording studios, the Apollo x16D offers industry-leading sound quality and real-time UAD plugin processing for up to 64 channels via network audio. It also supports immersive audio mixing formats such as Dolby Atmos, Auro-3D, and Sony 360 Reality Audio.
UA's CEO Bill Putnam Jr. stated, "The Apollo x16D enables network audio processing that will play a crucial role in UA's future."
The Apollo x16D works seamlessly with digital mixing consoles and networked audio systems via Dante. This allows the use of over 200 UAD plugins including Neve, API, Lexicon, SSL, Auto-Tune, and more.
In addition to real-time UAD plugin processing via Dante, it features a Scene function for instant plugin setting recall, and the ability to connect up to four units to create a 64-channel Dante system.
The Apollo x16D is available in two editions: Essentials+ ($2,999) and Ultimate+ ($3,999). For detailed product information, refer to the Universal Audio website.
